Introduction to Quilting With Rulers on a Domestic Machine – Jackie Jackson-Harvey, Teacher

Time: 10 am to 4 pm

Place: Southwest Arts Center

Fee: $35.00

 

Learn to use rulers and templates to create texture in your quilts using a straight-line and curved ruler to add piano keys, curves, and crosshatching to your quilt blocks and borders. There will be plenty of time to practice during the class.

Kit provided by Instructor (Additional Fee payable on the day of class: $40) includes:

·  Ruler/Hopping Foot

·  12” Acrylic Arc Template

·  Ruler Grip Tape

·  Quilt Sandwich & Pattern

·  Cheater Fabric

Students’ Basic Sewing Supply List

o  Domestic Sewing Machine, w/Power Cord & Foot Petal

(Upon Registration Provide Make & Model to Pre-determine whether Low, Medium or High Shank Foot)

o  Sewing Thread (2 spools Red & White 40 or 50 weight)

o  Sewing Thread Bobbins (Neutral/Pre-wound preferably)

o  Needles for Sewing Machine (90/14 Quilting or Universal)

o  Marking Tool (Erasable or Water Soluble)

o  Fabric Scissors

o  Manual for Machine

o  Quilting Gloves (optional)
