Confident Beginner Quilting Class,

Fee: $65.00
This is a Jelly Roll friendly quilt! And this class will provide an overall orientation of quilting terminology and general knowledge. The hands-on skills will include the basics of rotary cutting, accurate piecing, pinning, pressing, chain piecing and web piecing. These skills will prepare the student to make any Log Cabin style block and the African Cabin Quilt.
Yardage Requirements for 40 X 40 throw quilt:
African fabric
2½ Strips
1 yard — Cut 16 strips
Background
2½ Strips
1 yard — Cut 16 strips
Backing
Includes 3” -4” all around for quilting
2½ yards
Binding
2½ Strips
⅝ yards — Cut 5 2 1/2 inch strips
Pre class preparation
· A Jelly Roll of authentic African themed fabrics or cut 36 non-repeating strips from yardage.
· Background fabric can be a Jelly Roll or yardage.
· Cut all yardage into 2½ inch strips prior to class!
