About the event

This class is for youth between the ages of 12 and 17 years of age who want to learn to quilt. However parents are welcome!  It's a great way for parent and child to bond.

Instructor Brenda Shelby will teach students the basics of using a sewing machine. After sewing machine skills are learned, students will cut and sew rail fence blocks and turn them into their first quilt. Students will learn to sandwich their quilt and quilt in the ditch. If time allows students will sew the binding on their quilt and leave with a finished quilt quilt.

All supplies including a sewing machine will be provided. Lunch is also included.

A limited number of scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship email  info@atlantaquiltfestival.com with "Scholarhip Application for Youth Quilting class" in the subject line.

Tickets go on sale April 1, 2024.
