About the event
The Atlanta Quilt Festival is pleased to premier its inaugural Marva Swanson Lecture Series. Marva Swanson was a co-founder of the Atlanta Quilt Festival who tirelessly promoted quilt education. It is in her spirit that we offer a series of lectures during the Festival in 2024.
Nancy Franklin, a quilter for over 20 years, will share her knowledge gained from her in-depth study of quilts. Her lecture is entitled "My Quilt is Finished. Now What?" She will discuss the following important topics that will help you preserve your quilt legacy.
- Documenting your quilt
- Protecting your quilt
- Valuing your quilt
- Getting your quilt appraised
Nancy is one of the founders of the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild which has been in existence over 20 years. She has studied extensively about valuing quilts, and we look forward to her sharing her wealth of knowledge. A reception follows questions and answers. There will be time to view the 2024 juried exhibit and the "Getting Into MY Good Trouble" exhibit before the venue closes at 5 p.m.
Seating is limited. Get your ticket early. Find Nancy on Instagram at @nfrank404 and Facebook under Nancy Franklin.
