About the event


LECTURE:  "Creating with African Textiles" 


Learn about the origins and uses of various African textiles and how they became a part of Lisa Shepard's lifelong Fabrigasmic journey.  While reviewing her various quilts, garments decorative items and crafts, attendees will come away with fresh inspiration and technical tips for working with ankara prints, handcrafted batiks, bogolan / mudcloth, kente, kuba, korhogo and other specialties. Designed for stitchers of all skill levels, and anyone with an interest in African culture.

 

A reception follows with time to meet and take pictures with Lisa.


Lisa will also be part of the VENDOR’S MARKET Sunday August 2 from noon - 4 p.m.
